friday hugs & more

i think everyone needs a hug now and then.........so here ya go. 

tigger the cat is laying on my five subject notebook that i use for school......so i guess i'll take a break from doing schoolwork.  yesterday i did a 750 word essay on a skill that people should have.  i was going back and forth between the topics "reading" and "typing."  guess which one i chose. 

    hee hee! 

i'm sure you all notice i always type in lowercase in my blog, always have, and probably will continue to.  this is the place where i can type as i please.  so i like loweercase letters.  think i'll keep it that way.

i went christmas shopping last night.  due to the fact that sometimes my kids actually look at my blog i can't say what i got.....but i bet they'll be excited when they open the things i got for them.

doctor called me while i was out shopping to ask if i would come in and get the n1h1 flu vaccine.  see, i have asthma pretty bad and they don't want me getting sick again since i just got over bronchitis again.  so i set up appointment to go in monday to get it.  this is how dr looks.....  hee hee !

i took a nap yesterday and woke to my son stomping in....his father had picked him up from school drunk again.  my son thought i let him go like that, when what really had happened was that rick had gone to doctor to get his meds then gone shopping.  during that time obviously he had bought booze.  if he had stopped at home first i would have NEVER let him go out in the vehicle again yesterday.  another f-ed up day.  i'm sick of this and the kids are fed up too.

it makes me want to pull my hair out, he makes me so mad!

omg i have to post this one again.......i wonder if anyone ever buys his gumballs.

teacher asked me for help

she says i give positive and substantial responses to other students.  that is a good thing.  but she needs me to help the others out a little more by pointing out grammar mistakes, poorly written assignments, etc. 

i am flattered and flabbergasted at the same time.  you see, we have to have two substantial replies to what other students have written four out of the seven days of the week.  i usually reply to everyone and i try to stay positive even if what they have written is full of mistakes. 

in the case of spelling errors, i suggest they turn their spell checker on.  i kind of think this is only logical.  but i guess some college students think they don't need a spell checker.  the younger ones can be known by the way they shorten words, as they do in texting.  a spell checker would eliminate that problem.  i know i find myself typing thru instead of through.  others have run on sentences that just seem to go on and on forever.

i am glad my teacher is asking me for help....it makes me feel good.  am i a teacher's pet?  i don't know, and if i am, i certainly don't mind!

and i pray...

i humbly ask God to take my will and my life into His hands.  i pray for guidance.  i pray that i become the person He wants me to be.

i pray for my family.  i ask that He keep them safe, healthy, happy, and warm always.  i ask that He let each one know in their hearts how much they are truly loved.

i pray for my friends.  i ask that he watch over them and keep them healthy and happy.  i pray for their loved ones and friends. 

i pray for those that are suffering in any way.  i ask that He take care of them and let healing begin in whatever form that may be.

Bad day at Hallmark

today i go to the orthopaedic doctor to see how my hand is doing.  there is still some numbness in my little finger, but it is tolerable.  i really hope he says just continue on the neurontin and we'll skip surgery.  how in the world would i get school work done with one arm?

my women's meeting yesterday was over 4 hours long.  but i got to share about everything that has been happening.  it felt good to get all my feelings out.  and the grab bag gift i got was a starbucks gift card!  coolies!!

i want to keep richie and stephanie home today.  they both have awful colds.  but i doubt that they will allow that.  maybe richie, but not stephanie for sure.....today is regionals for basketball.  tomorrow is tryouts for volleyball...her all time favorite thing in the world. 

jordan is car shopping.  he is doing a good job of looking for decent vehicles....unlike the way his father looks for cars.  rick likes camaros and little red cars that go fast but make no sense when you have a family of five.  i'm glad jordan is being responsible about it.  he is not looking at dealerships.  he needs to find something simple and reliable to get him to and from school and a job.

i cannot believe christmas will be here soon.  i put the tree up and put the lights on myself.  no one else seems to be in the spirit of christmas yet here but me.  but i think the tree is pretty at night.  i am waiting to put ornaments on with the kids..that's a tradition. 

and last but not least....richie got accepted into westwood college!
